Named “Best Local Jazz Artist 2004” and “Best Local Solo Musician 2002” by the Miami New times, Nicole Henry delivers a beautiful and distinctive voice, mesmerizing audiences and leaving then wanting more.  This world-class performer’s classic elegance, infectious energy, sexy appeal, and honest interpretations make for a truly moving experience.

Poised for national stardom, nicole’s repertoire ranges from jazz to pop to torch songs to inspirational ballads to R&B.  Regardless of what the material, Nicole’s passion translates into something higher. Nicole’s professional music career started with dance music recordings that placed her on Billboard’s Dance Music charts for eight weeks in 1998. Nicole Henry has also appeared on national TV commercials, has sung the national anthem for the NBA at the American Airlines Arena and is a favorite at clear Channel’s Jazz Festivals.  As a solo artist, Nicole has performed to huge crowds at Clear Channel concerts alongside Tower of Power and Bad to the Bone; she’s performed with world renown pianists Kenny Werner and Eddie Higgins; she sang in an XM Satellite Radio sponsored concert with GRAMMY-Award winning arranger and horn player, Tom Scott, bassist Will Lee, pianist Leon Pendarvis, the original Blues Brothers “Blue” Lou Merrini & Tom “Bones” Malone, where they opened for Joan Osborne; and has opened concerts for Broadway diva Jennifer Holliday.  She receives airplay on Jazz stations throughout the country and XM Satellite Radio channels.  She performs special concerts and is also regularly featured at top music venues such as Jazid and O’Hara’s, and maintains weekly schedules at Upstairs at the Van Dyke as well as Miami Beach’s beautiful Palms Hotel and Loew’s Hotel. 

Responding to her fans’ demand, Nicole produced and recorded her first full-length jazz CD, The Nearness of You.  It features twelve classic songs delivered with a fresh, authentic approach in her beautiful and distinctive voice, accompanied by the extraordinary pianist Mike Orta and a superb rhythm section.  A true storyteller, Nicole’s sexy, yet fun appeal, classic elegance, and honest interpretations bring new life to songs such as “old Black Magic” and You’re Looking At Me” and make listening to this album a truly moving experience.
